Portland, Maine, city officials said they received multiple complaints from residents and businesses about Robert Smith, 32, whistling loudly outside. The complaints resulted in a disorderly conduct charge, the Portland Press Herald reported Monday. Advertisement A Portland city ordinance lists whistling as a disorderly behavior, which can carry a fine up to $500. The case was resolved when Smith promised prosecutors he would only whistle while walking, not while standing in one place. "It came from God -- that's where it came from," Smith said of his whistling hobby. "God is showing me what I'm doing is OK. He shows me every day with laughter."
