TAMPA, Fla., Feb. 15 (UPI) -- Authorities in Florida said they arrested a man accused of making more than 1,200 calls to 911 since December of last year.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said it received more than 1,200 calls from an unregistered cellphone that was still equipped to call 911 as required by law and each call was traced to a Tampa neighborhood.

The calls sometimes featured a male voice rambling incoherently, deputies said.

Undercover deputies conducted surveillance on the area and were able identify and arrest Jason Michael Honaker, who admitted to making many of the calls, Wednesday.

Honaker is facing seven felony counts of making false 911 calls.
