BARTOW, Fla., Feb. 15 (UPI) -- Officials in a Florida county said a fire battalion chief and two medical supervisors were fired after an investigation found they engaged in sex while on duty.

Polk County Assistant Fire Chief Rick Parnell said Battalion Chief Trampas Fletcher and medical supervisor Michael Tomlinson were both said to have separately carried on sexual affairs with medical supervisor Shellie Krauklis while on duty and on county property, The Lakeland Ledger reported Friday.

The fire department fired all three workers and a fourth, Deputy Chief Michael Choate, was found not to have engaged in sexual conduct with Krauklis, but admitted to sending and receiving inappropriate text messages on his county-issued cellphone. He was suspended for seven days without pay and placed on one-year probation.

The investigation began last month when officials received allegations Fire Rescue "supervisors engaged in conduct of a sexual nature, while on and off duty, as well as on and off BoCC [Board of County Commissioners] property. Additionally, they allegedly used BoCC owned cellular phones to discuss and plan their sexual encounters," the county report said.
