Man left estate to two actors he never met

BROADWELL, Ill., Feb. 10 (UPI) -- A man who lived in a humble farmhouse in Illinois left his estate to two strangers, actors Kevin Brophy and Peter Barton, the executor of the estate said.

Ray Fulk, 71, drove a car from the 1960s, had no water running in his farmhouse near Broadwell, and he bathed in a nearby creek, the State Journal (Springfield) Register said.

But his estate will amount to high six figures, and possibly $1 million, after Fulk's 160 acres are sold, the State Journal Register said.

Attorney Donald Behle, the executor of the estate, sent letters to Brophy and Barton, television and movie stars in the 1980s and 1990s.

Fulk died in July, likely of a heart attack, and only about 10 people attended the service. In his will, he refers to Brophy and Barton as his friends, the State-Journal Register said.

Brophy and Barton knew each other well and worked together for the 1981 movie "Hell Night."

Behle said he has spoken to the two stars about coming to central Illinois for a fundraiser in honor of Fulk, and the proceeds would be donated to animal shelters -- as Fulk had an intense love of dogs.
