GREECE, N.Y., Feb. 3 (UPI) -- The town of Greece, N.Y., held its 11th annual snow golf tournament, an event to raise money for programs for the visually and hearing impaired in Greece.

About 100 people participated in the event in which they swung golf clubs at tennis balls on a course set up at the Greece Canal Park, the (Rochester, N.Y.) Democrat and Chronicle reported.

"It was a great day out on the course," said event chairman Wayne France. The tournament was organized by the Greece Ridge Lions Club.

France said funds were raised through entry fees, sponsorships and a chicken barbecue held after the tournament. An official figure of how much was raised Saturday had not yet been completed, he said.
