BURBANK, Calif., Feb. 2 (UPI) -- A California man was arrested after he allegedly shoplifted 24 quarts of motor oil, using bungee cords to secure the bottles to his legs and waist, police said.
Jorge Sanchez, 35, allegedly dropped several bottles in the parking lot of a Costco store in Burbank as he tried to outrun store security agents.
Police told the Burbank Leader Sanchez dropped most of the two-dozen bulky bottles while scrambling over a chain-link fence.
Sanchez was arrested a short distance away on a suspicion of burglary charge.
Police reports said the arresting officer discovered the bungee cords wrapped around Sanchez's legs and waist, the Los Angeles Times said.
