TROSTRE, Wales, Jan. 29 (UPI) -- A Welsh woman said she is being fined $538 after dropping a small package of salt while eating her lunch in a parking lot.

Laura Howells, 24, said she dropped the packet of salt while eating her KFC takeout in a Trostre, Wales, parking lot and a council official issued her a $101 ticket, The Sun reported Tuesday.

"I felt sick when I found out how much it cost me -- it was only a salt sachet," Howells said. "I was eating lunch in the car and must have dropped it by accident. I am not the type of person who ever litters."

Howells attempted to fight the fine in court and ended up with a total fine of $538 when she was tried under the Environmental Protection Act.
