Woman hasn't eaten since May 3, plans to go on
MOSCOW, Jan. 18 (UPI) -- The lower house of the Russian parliament gave tentative approval Friday to a bill that would impose fines for profane language in the media.
The bill, which was proposed by lawmakers in November and has met with resistance from the Kremlin, would impose fines of $70-$100 for individuals, $165-$700 for public officials and $700-$7,000 for legal entitles found to have used profane language in the media, RIA Novosti reported Friday.
"Our children must be protected from the flow of coarse language that comes from the media," United Russia lawmaker Vladimir Ponevezhsky said.
