NAPLES, Fla., Jan. 16 (UPI) -- Authorities in Florida said they are searching for a 100-pound grizzly bear cub that escaped from a private residence.

The Collier County Sheriff's Office and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said they are searching for the cub, which escaped around 11 a.m. Tuesday from a Golden Gate Estates residence in Naples.

The sheriff's office is asking residents in the area to keep an eye out for the animal and locals are cautioned not to approach the cub.
