State Police Sgt. Adam Grossman said the Lavallette man, whose name was not released, set out from his hometown in a canoe Tuesday and paddled to the roller coaster wreckage in Seaside Heights, The Asbury Park (N.J.) Press reported Tuesday. Advertisement Seaside Heights Police Chief Thomas Boyd said the man came down off the wreckage after hanging a U.S. flag from the top.
