BEIJING, Jan. 8 (UPI) -- A Chinese father, irate over his unemployed son's addiction to online role-playing games, took an unusual step of hiring online "hit men" to kill the habit.

The man identified as Mr. Feng by the Kotako East blog decided against sending his 23-year-old son to an addiction camp or taking away his son's Internet rights, but instead took the "hit man" route, the blog report said.

The son started playing video games in high school, and his habit became such an obsession he reportedly began considering himself a master of Chinese online games even as his grades were falling.

The report said while the father complained his son couldn't even land a job, the son said he couldn't find a job he liked.

Feng then decided to hire players in his son's favorite online games to hunt down Xiao Feng. The report said it was not clear how or where the father found the hit men, but every one of them proved to be better than his son.

The son finally told his father whether he played online games or not, he wanted to take some time to find a job that suited him, the report said.

Feng said he is now "relieved." However, it was not known if he had called off his hit men.
