MEMPHIS, Jan. 2 (UPI) -- A Memphis TV reporter was arrested on New Year's Eve after he allegedly called an officer a vulgar name, chest-bumped him and resisted arrest, police said.

Jason Miles, 39, a WMC-TV Channel 5 reporter, was taken into custody on disorderly conduct charges after he refused to move his news station's SUV out of a no-parking zone and said he would move it in 15 minutes, the Memphis Commercial Appeal reported.

A hearing on the charges Wednesday was reset to April 16 in criminal court, the newspaper said.

Miles apologized after he was taken into custody, police said.

He is free on $100 bail.
