PASADENA, Calif., Dec. 29 (UPI) -- Early birds jockeying for the primo places along the Rose Parade route were reminded by officials of what they can't do while waiting for New Year's Day.

The city told spectators there would be no camping on the streets of Pasadena this weekend nor would there be any comfy sofas dragged out to the street or ladders erected to give kids a better view of bands and spectacular floats.

Other don'ts include no roping off of prime positions and definitely no alcohol to while away the time, KTLA-TV, Los Angeles, said.

Meantime, Pasadena has been abuzz with pre-parade activity. The fresh flowers were being added to the floats and the grandstands were put into place.

KABC-TV in Los Angeles said a telephone hotline was set up to help spectators with the rules and other valuable information about parade day.
