NAPLES, Fla., Dec. 26 (UPI) -- Police in Florida said two sisters were arrested after inadvertently pocket dialing the hotel they had allegedly just robbed.

Naples police said a woman wearing sunglasses and a black bandana covering her mouth entered the InnPlace Hotel Nov. 18 and put her hands in her pockets, indicating the presence of a weapon, WBBH-TV, Fort Myers, Fla., reported Wednesday.

The woman demanded money from the register and fled with an unspecified amount of cash, police said.

Investigators said the phone rang while the clerk was waiting for police to arrive, and the clerk discovered it was an accidental pocket dial. Police said the clerk recognized the voices of the suspect and Ashlie Alewine, 22, a former employee who had been fired two days before the robbery.

Police said the women discussed the robbery while the clerk listened in on their conversation.

Officers spoke with Shelby Alewine, the owner of the cellphone number used to call the hotel, and she told police she sometimes shares the phone with daughters Ashlie Alewine and Nakilya Wright, 18.

Police said Wright was identified as the woman who robbed the hotel.

Both suspects were arrested Friday and charged with robbery and petit theft.
