The mother, whose name was not released, said her daughter, Chantel Mailhiot, 6, was prevented from sitting on Santa's lap at the South Portland Mall when she refused to buy a $20 photo package, WGME-TV, Portland, reported Thursday. Advertisement The mother said her daughter asked Santa for an "American Girl doll" and he replied she would receive an "American football." The mall said a new Santa Claus will be in place Thursday. The former Santa declined to comment, WGME-TV said.
