CHAMBERSBURG, Pa., Dec. 5 (UPI) -- A baby Jesus figurine stolen from a Pennsylvania church last year has turned up cradled in the arms of a statue.

Julia Super, 7, was the first to spot the Central Presbyterian Church's returned Jesus Sunday on Memorial Square in Chambersburg, in the arms of a bronze soldier statue, the Chambersburg Public Opinion reported Wednesday.

"We were driving to church and Julia started yelling, 'There's baby Jesus! There's baby Jesus!'" mother Buffy Super said.

Super said her daughter had been "totally distraught" when the figurine was stolen last year.

"It was more than she could handle," Buffy Super said. "It was a beautiful Christmas miracle that it was returned -- everyone looked in disbelief."

Church member Roni Gingrich said the day wasn't all good news: Someone stole the replacement Jesus, which had been donated by Hobby Lobby, after Sunday's service.
