MIAMI BEACH, Fla., Nov. 30 (UPI) -- NBA Hall of Famer Michael Jordan will not be invited back to a Florida country club because he violated a dress code while playing golf, a club source said.

Jordan was spotted playing golf as a guest of a member at the La Gorce Country Club in Miami Beach and a source said members complained he was wearing cargo pants on the course instead of the Bermuda shorts required by the dress code, the New York Post reported Friday.

"He was given the chance to change but he didn't want to," the source said. "He won't be invited back."

A Jordan representative said Jordan had played at the club "many times before and had worn cargo pants previously, and had never been made aware that he was violating any dress code."

"This time, he was made aware of the violation on the 12th hole, and at that point ... he did refuse to interrupt his game, and return to the clubhouse and change. We were not aware that he is not allowed to return to La Gorce. I guess it's their loss -- as MJ is a great golfer, and a great guest."
