Advertisement The microblogging site said Obama's celebratory tweet of "Four more years" quickly rose to a record 500,000, USA Today reported Wednesday. By 11:20 a.m. EST, it had been re-tweeted 671,943 times, a UPI check indicated. The tweet Tuesday night included a photo of the president with his wife, first lady Michelle Obama. Nudist escorted from SF board meeting SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 7 (UPI) -- A woman was removed from a San Francisco Board of Supervisors hearing for disrobing during discussion of a public nudity ban. Gypsy Taub, a nudist activist, stripped naked Monday while speaking during the public comment period of a board hearing on legislation that would ban public nudity in the city and was removed by a sheriff's deputy while speaking in favor of "body freedom" and criticizing the legislation, proposed by Supervisor Scott Wiener, as "fascist," the San Francisco Chronicle reported Wednesday. Advertisement "Down with Scott Wiener," Taub shouted while being led away. Authorities said Taub agreed to get dressed in the hallway and was not arrested or cited. Wiener said the legislation comes after an increase in the number of "naked guys" in the Castro district, which he represents. "Over the past two years, the situation on our streets and particularly in the Castro has changed," Wiener said. "Public nudity is no longer random and sporadic, and it's no longer an occasional quirky part of San Francisco." The legislation would impose a $100 fine for a first offense and a $200 fine for a second offense in a 12-month period. A third offense would result in a $500 fine or a misdemeanor charge. Man arrested after posing with helicopter DELAND, Fla., Nov. 7 (UPI) -- Authorities in Florida said two men are facing charges for running through a blocked-off parking lot and taking pictures with a sheriff's office helicopter. The Volusia County Sheriff's Office said Jason Mayid, 25, and Justin Sanford, 24, ran through the blocked off parking lot of JR's Country Western Club in DeLand just after 1 a.m. Sunday and continued taking cellphone pictures with the helicopter parked there despite being ordered to leave by deputies, WKMG-TV, Orlando, Fla., reported Wednesday. Advertisement The arrest report said Mayid and Sanford admitted to consuming "a few drinks" before the incident. They said they ran to the chopper because they "thought it would be an awesome picture." Mayid and Sanford were charged with resisting arrest and disorderly intoxication. Dead Texas liberal wins state Senate seat HOUSTON, Nov. 7 (UPI) -- In one of the more unusual races, the late Texas Democrat Mario Gallegos beat his Republican challenger for a state Senate seat. Gallegos, who died last month, remained on Tuesday's ballot because he passed less than 74 days before the election and the liberal Hispanic easily won re-election to his Fort Worth-area seat posthumously. "He was always there for the community," longtime friend and retired firefighter Juan Hernandez told the Houston Chronicle. Gallegos died of complications from liver disease in October. "Every person who came up to me was like, 'Didn't he die?'" Cynthia Gallegos, his youngest sister, said in southeast Houston where the family gathered for Election Night. "I would bite my lip and explain the process. We want to keep the district Democratic." Under Texas law, Republican Gov. Rick Perry will declare the seat vacant and schedule a special election within 45 days. Advertisement Gallegos' brother-in-law, Johnny Villarreal, smoked a hand-rolled cigar from the winner's private humidor and said, "He [Gallegos] will be smiling all the way."
