GAINESVILLE, Fla., Nov. 1 (UPI) -- Police in Florida said a tutu-clad veteran was arrested for beating a disabled veteran who he thought was dressed up for Halloween.

Gainesville police said Christopher Dabney, 22, was arrested around 2:30 a.m. Thursday at the Pita Pit restaurant after he allegedly hit Daniel Priotti, 35, two times, knocking him from his wheelchair, The Gainesville Sun reported Thursday.

Witnesses said Dabney, a Marine veteran, was offended by what he believed to be Priotti's disabled veteran Halloween costume. However, Priotti really is a wheelchair-bound veteran and former Marines.

Dabney was charged with abuse of the disabled.
