DANIA BEACH, Fla., Oct. 16 (UPI) -- The owners of a retired Florida roller coaster touted as the state's tallest wooden coaster said they want a non-profit to take the ride or sell it for parts.

Allyson Goodwin, an attorney representing Dania Woody LLC, which owns the 100-foot-tall Dania Beach Hurricane at the Boomers of Greater Fort Lauderdale theme park, said the company decided to donate the coaster a few weeks ago when it discovered the parts would be worth more than the cost of breaking the ride down, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported Tuesday.

Goodwin said the company is seeking a non-profit to either move the ride to a new location or break it down and sell the parts.

Goodwin said the coaster was in good working order and up to date on inspections when it closed due to financial difficulties in April 2011, but the company determined renovating it after not being used for more than a year would cost about $10 million.
