LONDON, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- A British bar owner said he has concocted the world's most expensive cocktail, costing $8,837 per glass.

Salvatore Calabrese, owner of the Salvatore's bar at the Playboy Club London, said his "Salvatore's Legacy" cocktail includes 1778 Clos de Griffier Vieux Cognac, a 1770 Kummel liqueur, a Dubb Orange Curacao from about 1860 and Angostura bitters from the turn of the 20th century, Sky News reported Monday.

A Guinness spokeswoman confirmed it has received Calabrese's claim to a record.

"The current record for the most expensive cocktail commercially available is '27,321,' costing 27,321 United Arab Emirates dirham ($6,051), which can be found on the menu of The Skyview Bar of Burj Al Arab Hotel, Dubai, United Arab Emirates," the spokeswoman said.
