FORT PIERCE, Fla., Oct. 10 (UPI) -- Police in Florida said officers responding to a report of shots fired arrested a man accused of firing off three rounds into a kitty litter box.
Fort Pierce police said officers responded around 8:15 p.m. Oct. 1 to the home of David Ciullo, 53, and he told them the gunshot sounds reported by his neighbors resulted from him firing shots into a litter box in his back yard, TCPalm.com reported Wednesday.
"I shoot the gun once in a while to test it out," the police report quotes Ciullo as saying.
"He continued to state this happens randomly every week or two while occasionally intoxicated," the report said.
Officers discovered three cartridge casings in the backyard kitty litter.
Police said they discovered Ciullo had two felony convictions in 2011. He was arrested on charges including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and discharging a firearm in public.
