SEATTLE, Oct. 4 (UPI) -- Police said a "big goat" an officer found wandering in Seattle was actually a ram and has been returned to its owner.

The Seattle Police Department, which initially identified the creature as a "big goat," said the animal was picked up by an officer who spotted it wandering in the Beacon Hill neighborhood Sunday morning, and it was taken to the Seattle Animal Shelter, KCPQ-TV, Seattle, reported Thursday.

Don Baxter, a manager at the shelter, said the animal was actually a ram, a male sheep, and had escaped from a yard belonging to a friend of its owner.

A relative of the owner saw the animal on the news and the owner picked was reunited with the sheep Wednesday. Baxter said the owner paid an impound and microchip fee of about $75.
