JACKSON, Mich., Oct. 3 (UPI) -- An Idaho artist is showing his support for Mitt Romney by creating images of the Republican presidential nominee in Michigan and Ohio corn fields.

Shawn Stolworthy, who creates about 100 corn mazes each year, said he decided to branch out into political cornfield messages this year and made a 10-acre portrait of Romney with running mate Paul Ryan in a field belonging to Hank Choate, chairman of Michigan's Jackson County Republican Party, the Detroit Free Press reported Wednesday.

"Man, this is fabulous. I was blown away by the sharpness of the detail," Choate said.

Stolworthy said he has made several similar creations in fields in Michigan and Ohio.

The artist, whose tools include a small John Deer tractor and a computer combining his source images with GPS navigation, said he is creating the corn images free of charge.

"I have to interpret the design and steer the tractor," he said. "It takes a lot of experience and practice."
