CAIRO, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- Egyptian officials have become subjects of sarcasm after a government official told a woman interviewing him she was "hot."

Information Minister Salah Abdel Maqsood told Lebanese host Zina al-Jarhi, "I wish your questions are not as hot as you are," at the start of an interview on the Dubai Satellite channel, Bikya Masr reported Saturday.

Jarhi replied, "My questions are the hot factor."

A video of the interview showed him saying, "Hope your opinions are hot."

Then he said, "She is hot."

His comments elicited sarcasm on social networking sites, with commenters noting that the country's head of state recently "adjusted himself" during a meeting with the female prime minister of Australia.
