BERLIN, Sept. 27 (UPI) -- A German cab driver and self-described "lady whisperer" is behind an art gallery exhibition featuring pictures of female passengers flashing their breasts.

Hans-Jurgen Watzlawek, 67, said his "Flash Berlin 0.1" exhibit at the Galeria Casablanca came from using his skills as a "lady whisperer" to convince more than 40 female passengers to flash their breasts for his camera during the past two years, Der Spiegel reported Thursday.

Watzlawek said the project, which involved only women over the age of 30, began when a female passenger who believed herself to be pregnant showed him her breasts to illustrate how they had been growing. He said she agreed to let him take a picture and the art project was born.

Zoltan Labas, owner of Galeria Casablanca, said Watzlawek's photographs "raise fascinating questions about what art really is."

"Some of the reporting has been just plain wrong," he said. "For example, one paper suggested the women were all drunk."

The gallery owner said he does not actually consider the pictures to be "art."

"But that's why they're interesting," he said. "They're something in-between. They're very powerful, and it's the details that are intriguing. The breasts are just incidental."
