Advertisement Officers said they were called to the McDonald's in Rome, Ga., around 1 p.m. Sept. 17 by the restaurant's manager, who told them a man dressed in the king costume of the rival chain's mascot had come into the store and handed out free burgers to customers, the Rome News-Tribune reported Tuesday. The manager said the man claimed to be collecting money for charity, but did not collect any funds while inside the McDonald's. She said he left in a white Acura and removed his mask, revealing the face of a middle aged white man with dark hair. Video of the incident has been posted to YouTube. Pythons seen wandering Rome street ROME, Sept. 25 (UPI) -- Police in Rome said they have captured one of two pythons seen slithering down a street near an exotic pet store Tuesday morning. Investigators said the snakes were seen near a pet shop in the Torpignattara neighborhood early Tuesday and were likely abandoned in front of the store before it opened, Italy's ANSA news agency reported Tuesday. Advertisement Police said they were able to capture one of the snakes and they were still searching for the other animal Tuesday. Italian land artist makes Obama message VERONA, Italy, Sept. 25 (UPI) -- An Italian land artist said he took his tractor out onto his field to create a message in support of U.S. President Barack Obama. Dario Gambarin, who used similar methods to create a massive portrait of Obama in 2009, said he did not take any measurements before using his tractor to put the message "Obama for the Earth" on his field near Verona in massive characters that can only be seen by passing aircraft, ANSA reported Tuesday. The image invokes the Italian word for love -- "ama" -- as part of the president's name, and includes a crescent moon to symbolize the Islamic world. The artist said the collection of words and symbols is designed to support Obama's work for peace and dialogue between nations. 158.2-carat diamond unearthed in Russia NYURBA, Russia, Sept. 25 (UPI) -- A Russian diamond mining company said it has unearthed a rare 158.2-carat diamond worth more than $1.5 million. Alrosa, Russia's largest diamond mining company, said the gem was discovered this month at factory No. 16 of the Nyurbinsk mine in the Republic of Yakutia, northeastern Russia, RIA Novosti reported Tuesday. Advertisement "In the estimate of Alrosa's specialists, this diamond may be sold for over $1.5 million at auction. This diamond, if it is processed, may also produce several quality diamonds, each of them worth over several hundred thousand U.S. dollars," Alrosa said.
