Man finds 1938 Superman comic in wall of house

PORTLAND, Ore., Sept. 18 (UPI) -- Firefighters in Oregon said it took them about six hours to rescue a kitten from a sewer pipe with the help of a plumber.
Portland fire crews were called to a home around 7:30 p.m. Sunday by residents who said they heard the kitten crying inside the walls of their basement and the firefighters brought in a plumber to use a snake camera to locate the feline, KPTV, Portland, reported Tuesday.
Firefighters said the kitten was about 20 feet down the line of the 4-inch pipe and the crews cut holes in the pipe and used air to coax the kitten toward an opening.
The local Humane Society, which took custody of the kitten, said it is estimated to be about 3 weeks old and will be available for adoption in about a month.
