COPENHAGEN, Denmark, Sept. 12 (UPI) -- A circus in Denmark said two elephants that went for a stroll down a Copenhagen street early Wednesday were recaptured without incident.

Louise Mandrup, a spokesman for Cirkus Benneweis, said one of the elephants wandered off while working with a trainer and the keeper released the second elephant to lure the escaped animal back, The Copenhagen Post reported Wednesday.

Mandrup said the elephants were quickly returned to their tent. She said they never wandered very far from the circus and were within the trainer's sight at all times.
