Woman hasn't eaten since May 3, plans to go on
NEW DELHI, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- Authorities in India said three people were arrested after trying to board a plane to Dubai with an endangered monkey hidden in the underwear of one of them.
Security officials at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi said they arrested Al Dhaheri Hamad, Al Shamsi Mohammed and Al Shamsi Rashid, who arrived at the airport from Bangkok.
The three were attempting to board a Jet Airways flight to Dubai while one of them concealed a 7-inch-long loris monkey -- an endangered species -- in his underwear, the Press Trust of India reported Monday.
The suspects directed security inspectors to a trash bin where they had stashed a second monkey they were unable to carry.
The airport said the three travelers were turned over to Wildlife and Customs department officials for questioning and further investigation. Officials said they are arrested on violations of the Wildlife Act.
