PITTSFIELD, Mass., Sept. 10 (UPI) -- A Massachusetts man who attacked his mother when she berated him for eating too much bacon was sentenced to four months in jail.
Christopher Rougeau, 19, of Pittsfield pleaded guilty Tuesday in Central Berkshire District Court to misdemeanor assault and battery, and felony witness intimidation after police said he grabbed his mother by the throat last December, knocked her on the ground and disabled her phone when she attempted to call for help, the Berkshire (Mass.) Eagle reported Monday.
Pittsfield police said the incident began when Rougeau's mother yelled at him for eating the bacon she had been saving for later in the week.
Rougeau's sentence will be served concurrently to a six-month jail sentence he is serving for violating his probation for an assault and battery charge for another attack against his mother in June 2011.
Joseph Colonna, an attorney for Rougeau, said his client has repaired the relationship with his mother.
