LAS VEGAS, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- A Las Vegas artist who makes "die-o-ramas" of murders said orders for her work are coming in faster than she can fill them.

Abigail Goldman, 30, a former crime reporter for the Las Vegas Sun, said she was inspired by the miniature figures performing wholesome activities on a model train Web site, the Las Vegas Sun reported Monday.

"I said, 'Oh, look at all the little people! Wouldn't it be fun to have them hacking each other in half?'" Goldman said.

Goldman said her diorama scenes became popular online when her husband posted pictures of the miniatures on Web site Reddit in May and she soon started receiving orders from lovers of grisly art.

Goldman said she has sold 35 of the "die-o-ramas" for $50 to $500 and she has now had to stop taking orders to allow her to catch up with her 22 waiting customers.

The artist said she has been amazed by the reaction to her work.

"When you do something for yourself, you don't imagine that anyone else would be interested, even your own relatives," she said. "You don't tell your in-laws over dinner, 'I'm really happy with my lumberjack murder diorama. Could you please pass the potatoes?'"
