Pizza museum has 1,000-strong collection

PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 7 (UPI) -- The owner of Pizza Brain, a combination restaurant and pizza museum opening Friday in Philadelphia, houses the largest collection of pizza memorabilia.

Brian Dwyer, 27, owner of the Pizza Brain restaurant and museum, said the collection of more than 1,000 pizza-related items has been recognized by Guinness World Records as the largest collection of pizza goods in the world, USA Today reported Friday.

"It's a pizza shop that's a shrine to pizza," Dwyer told The New York Times.

Dwyer's collection includes albums, movie posters and toys such as a pizza-party Barbie doll.

The owner said his shop's pizza will be made in the style of old fashioned pizza parlor creations in gas-fed ovens, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.
