RENO, Nev., Sept. 7 (UPI) -- Police in Reno, Nev., say a man allegedly fired a shotgun at a golfer who accidentally sent a golf ball sailing through a window of his home.

Police said the golfer suffered minor wounds to an arm and leg in the Thursday afternoon incident, the Reno Gazette Journal reported.

The errant golf shot that led to the shotgun shot occurred about 3:50 p.m. near the 16th hole at LakeRidge Golf Course, the newspaper said.

Neither man's name was released.

Reno police Lt. Keith Brown said after the golf ball went through the window there was a verbal confrontation and then the resident "shot the golfer one time with a shotgun."
