TOLLESON, Ariz., Sept. 7 (UPI) -- An Arizona company specializing in pet health products said a dog wandered into its warehouse and gave birth to a litter of puppies.

Dan Shouse, the marketing director for Thomas Laboratories in Tolleson, said the five puppies and their mother were rescued from the company's warehouse Wednesday by Bob Spangler of Robin Hood Animal Rescue, a Thomas client, The Arizona Republic reported Friday.

Spangler said he was able easily to catch the five puppies under the warehouse's refrigerator on his first visit, but the mother dog required more effort.

"I tried to catch the mom, but she wasn't very happy about it," Spangler said. "She wasn't very friendly at first."

The rescuer said it took him five hours to catch the mother, eventually using one of her puppies to lure her into a trap.

Spangler said mother and puppies, which are less than a week old, were taken to his at-home rescue. He said a sixth puppy was found at the warehouse Thursday and joined his family.

"They're all little, mixed breed puppies; they're all sweet as can be," he said. "They're just the cutest little things."
