1,255 redheads gather in Netherlands

BREDA, Netherlands, Sept. 4 (UPI) -- A total of 1,255 people in a Dutch city set a world record for the largest gathering of natural redheads, Guinness World Records said.

Guinness said the weekend event in Breda beat the previous world record of 890 natural redheads gathered in Washington in 2010, DutchNews.nl reported Tuesday.

A total 4,000 to 5,000 people are believed to have turned out for the event, but only 1,255 qualified as natural redheads under Guinness rules.
