NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Aug. 24 (UPI) -- A Michigan couple teamed with a California adventure travel company to incorporate water-powered jetpacks into their wedding.
Grant Engler, 25, said he was wearing a T-shirt from the company, Zozi, when he proposed to Amanda Volf, 26, on a Mexican beach and he sent a photo of the proposal to the San Francisco company, The Orange County (Calif.) Register reported Friday.
Tian Lee, a Zozi spokeswoman, said company officials had the idea to host the couple's wedding with one of their merchants, Jetlev Southwest in Newport Beach, which offers rides on the water-powered jetpacks.
The groom wore a black wetsuit with a white bow tie and the bride wore a white rash guard and board shorts when they used the jetpacks to fly to their beachfront ceremony Thursday.
"The jetpacks were a blast to use and easy to learn," Engler said.
Volf agreed with her new husband.
"It was an amazing feeling to fly over the water," she said.
