SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Aug. 14 (UPI) -- The word F-bomb is among the latest additions to the 2012 update of Merriam Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, the company said Tuesday.

Merriam-Webster Editor-at-Large Peter Sokolowski said F-bomb joins words like sexting, man cave, aha moment, bucket list, cloud computing, earworm, energy drink, gassed and gastropub.

"Terms like man cave, underwater, earworm and bucket list paint vivid pictures in your mind," Sokolowski said. "They show that English-speakers can be every creative as they describe the world around them."

Systemic risk and underwater were added as a result of the 2008 financial crisis while pop culture contributed the word earworm, a song or melody that keeps repeating in your mind.
