Chris Rowland said he gained 4,000 followers from Saudi Arabia earlier this month because the users confused his Twitter handle, @StC, with the initials of the Riyadh-based Saudi Telecom Co., which has more than 160 million customers, the New York Daily News reported Wednesday. Advertisement "There had been a constant trickle for phone and Internet complaints coming to my account, so I was like, 'I have to look this up,'" Rowland said. Rowland said some followers have also confused his account with a Jakarta mall, resulting in numerous tweets from Indonesian teens. Rowland said he has tried catering to his new audience with tweets featuring Arabic script. "To my Saudi followers: You guys are great. I wish I COULD fix your phone company," he tweeted.
