MORGANTOWN, W.Va., Aug. 7 (UPI) -- Newsweek's annual college rankings named West Virginia University as the nation's top party school and California's Stanford University as the happiest school

The Newsweek & The Daily Beast College Rankings 2012, based on statistics and interviews with students, also declared Pacific Union College in California to be the most beautiful school in the United States based on the number of sunny days per school year and student rankings of their fellow students' attractiveness and the campus aesthetics.

West Virginia University was picked as the top party school based on undergraduate enrollment, disciplinary actions for drugs and alcohol, party-related arrests and the Princeton Review Party School and Beer Drinking ranks.

Stanford was named as the happiest school based on its full-time retention rate, percentage of students who say they would pick the same school and an overall student experience ranking.
