BURTON-UPON-TRENT, England, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- A British man who works as a Luciano Pavarotti impersonator said a bank denied him a personalized debit card due to his resemblance to the opera singer.

Colin Miller, 66, of Burton-upon-Trent, England, said he applied for a photo card and uploaded a picture of himself to be displayed on the card, but Barclays officials sent him a card without the photo on it and suggested he did not own the copyright to the image, The Daily Telegraph reported Monday.

Miller, who has worked as a Pavarotti impersonator for more than 20 years, said he was "shocked."

"I don't try to look like him. I have had no cosmetic surgery and I don't try to do things to myself to look like him," Miller said. "I am being penalized for looking how I do."

Barclays officials described the issue as an "understandable mistake" and said a card with Miller's picture will soon be issued.
