LEEDS, England, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- A British funeral director who accused her former employers of firing her for reporting an alleged sexual assault has settled the case.
Skye Knight, 38, told a Leeds, England, tribunal she was fired a few weeks after reporting embalmer Billy Shannon grabbed her by the ponytail at Highfield Funeral Service in Huddersfield, England, and kissed and groped her without her consent while on the job, The Daily Telegraph reported Monday.
Simon Anderson, Knight's lawyer, described the incident as a "violent sexual assault." He said company officials reacted in a "chauvinistic" manner and implied Knight had led Shannon on in some way.
The case, which accused Highfield of sexual harassment and unfair dismissal, was settled out of court following a hearing last week.
A Highfield representative said the terms of the settlement were confidential.
Knight declined to comment on the case, The Daily Telegraph said.
