OMAHA, Aug. 4 (UPI) -- A 74-year-old Nebraska man is selling off his vast collection of antique cars, and he hopes to replace all of them with a wife.
Jerry Andreasen of Omaha told the Omaha (Neb.) World Herald he'd spent so much time over the decades collecting and refurbishing his 90 vehicles he's never had time to go on a date.
A retired drywall worker, Andreasen says whatever he made on the job he spent on restoring the old cars. Now he's a little regretful.
"Whatever I'd make, I'd turn around and put it into cars. but I'd never do it again because I never had time for anything else," he said. "I've never been on a date."
In an auction Aug. 11, the life-long bachelor will sell 90 vehicles, including a 1918 Buick truck driven in the Beverly Hillbillies TV show, from his collection assembled from all over the country.
After the sale, Andreasen figures he will have lots of spare time. Perhaps not for long, however.
"I spent so much time working and getting my cars, I never got married. I think I'm going to look for a wife, and I don't care if she already has a half-dozen kids," he said.
