NEWPORT, Vt., Aug. 3 (UPI) -- A Vermont man who was angry about his arrest drove his parents' tractor over seven police vehicles outside of a sheriff's office, authorities said.
The Orleans County Sheriff's Department said Roger Pion, 34, who was arrested by Newport police July 3 on charges of resisting arrest and possession of marijuana, drove his parents' large tractor over seven of the department's cars, the Burlington (Vt.) Free Press reported Friday.
"It's more than half our fleet. We have 11 cars," Chief Deputy Sheriff Phil Brooks said.
Pion was arrested by Newport police about two miles away, the sheriff's department said.
Vermont State Police said Pion is facing seven counts of felony unlawful mischief, one misdemeanor count of unlawful mischief, leaving the scene of an accident, grossly negligent operation and aggravated assault. He was jailed in lieu of $15,000 bail.
