Man finds 1938 Superman comic in wall of house
ORLANDO, Fla., July 27 (UPI) -- Police in Florida said they arrested a man accused of putting his daughter in the trunk of his car in a church parking lot amid 97 degree heat.
Orlando police said a woman called 911 after seeing Johnny Nguyen, 50, throw his screaming daughter into the trunk of a Toyota Camry in the parking lot of a church and close the trunk, the Orlando Sentinel reported Friday.
The woman said the man paced around the back of the vehicle for about a minute and eventually opened the trunk and let the girl out when her husband shouted for him to open the trunk and said they were calling police.
Police said Nguyen was confrontational when an officer arrived.
"What you want here, I didn't do anything, she was only in trunk for few minutes," the police report quotes him as saying.
Police said Nguyen was arrested on a child abuse charge and the Department of Children and Families was notified.
