INDIANAPOLIS, July 25 (UPI) -- Officials at the Indiana State Fair said they have chosen spaghetti and meatballs ice cream as the official signature food of the event.
The fair said a panel of judges picked the ice cream, which is made from gelato noodles, strawberry tomato sauce, shredded white chocolate cheese and chocolate meatballs, as the official food of the Aug. 3-19 Indiana State Fair, the Indianapolis Star reported Wednesday.
Other unusual foods to be served at the fair include deep fried treats such as Samoa Girl Scout cookies, M&Ms, Hershey drops and "bubble gum" made from marshmallows and bubble gum extract.
Non-deep fried foods available for purchase at the fair include a raspberry doughnut chicken burger and a bacon peanut butter banana burger known as "The Elvis."
