Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe KIEV, Ukraine, July 25 (UPI) -- Police in Ukraine said they arrested a suspected livestock thief whose car got stuck in a ditch with a cow and a lamb inside. Investigators said Anatoly Stepanyuk removed the seats from his Lada sedan to fit the animals inside and drove about 12 1/2 miles from the crime scene before his vehicle became stuck in a ditch and he hitchhiked home, RIA Novosti reported Wednesday. Advertisement Police told Gazeta.ua Stepanyuk hitchhiked home and claimed his car had been stolen, but eventually admitted to the livestock theft under questioning. Stepanyuk faces up to six years in prison.
