Totes express Olympic dissatisfaction

LONDON, July 25 (UPI) -- A British designer says his line of sarcastic tote bags for London residents annoyed by the Olympic Games is proving popular.

Toby Leigh said he took great care not to violate any Olympic copyrights when he created the totes, which are modeled on the London 2012 logo but do not contain the word "Olympics" or any associated symbols, The Sun reported Tuesday.

"You can't use the words London 2012 or the Olympic rings, but they can't copyright the word London," Leigh said. "The typeface isn't the same typeface either."

The bag slogans include "They're all on steroids," "I'm renting my flat to fat American family" and "It only took me three hours to get to work this morning."

Leigh said sales have been so brisk the bags have temporarily sold out.

Man attempts 'joggling' world record

HOUSTON, July 25 (UPI) -- A University of Florida student said he will attempt the "joggling" world record by running a mile while juggling five objects in Houston.

Matthew Feldman, an engineering student, said he plans to attempt the Guinness World Record at the Rice University track at 7 p.m. Friday, WKMG-TV, Orlando, Fla., reported Tuesday.

Feldman said he is targeting the record of 7 minutes, 41 seconds for "joggling" -- jogging and juggling simultaneously -- a mile set by Bill Gillen.

Feldman said his record attempt will also raise money and awareness for victims of last year's tsunami in Japan.

Missing python found in owner's yard

YORKTOWN, Va., July 25 (UPI) -- Authorities in Virginia said they have found a Burmese python reported missing from its owner's home.

The York-Poquoson Sheriff's Office said the 10-foot-long snake disappeared this month from its owner's Yorktown home and was found Monday coiled up in the yard of the home, The (Norfolk) Virginian-Pilot reported Tuesday.

The sheriff's office said the snake was healthy and was returned to its owner.

Bees swarm around parked bicycle

KRISTIANSTAD, Sweden, July 25 (UPI) -- Residents of a Swedish city said thousands of bees leaving their hive behind swarmed around a parked bicycle.

Witnesses in Kristianstad said the bees swarmed around the parked bike in Sodertorg square after apparently abandoning their old hive, The Local reported Tuesday.

"Then the queen arrived and they started to come in droves after that," witness Jan Ekdala told the local Kristianstadbladet newspaper.

"In only five minutes it was a gigantic bee-swarm," Ekdala said.

Experts said bees will often choose a gathering place, such as a tree branch, after abandoning a hive while waiting for about 20-50 scouts to find a new permanent home.
