ROY, Utah, July 19 (UPI) -- A Utah 11-year-old bound for the Pokemon Trading Card Game World Championships in August said he practices with his mom for 3 hours every day.

Daniel Sargent, of Roy, Utah, said he has been training with his mother for 3 hours each day to prepare for the August world championships in Hawaii, KSTU-TV, Salt Lake City, reported Thursday.

"My mom over-practices me," the boy said.

Sargent said his strategy for winning doesn't involve a lot of secret tricks.

"My strategy is I like to practice a lot and to play calmly. If you play too fast, you'll make mistakes," he said.
