SAANICH, British Columbia, July 13 (UPI) -- Police in British Columbia said they have identified a motorcyclist who filmed himself driving 186 mph and urged him to surrender to authorities.

The Saanich Police Department said the motorcyclist in the online video, which had amassed nearly 1 million views, has been identified as Randy Scott, 25, of Victoria and he has now been added to the department's "most wanted" list, CNN reported Friday.

Police said Scott filmed himself driving 186 mph in a 50 mph zone on a busy part of the Trans-Canada highway April 6.

"We have a dedicated group of traffic safety officers and that is a very dramatic example of some obviously dangerous driving," Sgt. Dean Jantzen said.

Jantzen said Scott has had previous run-ins with the law and police are encouraging him to surrender.
